Melon and Parma ham

Melon in Parma ham

| | | | |

This is probably the simplest and shortest recipe you will find on this blog 🙂 Bare in mind that simple does not mean untasty or bland. For making this snack, you only need two ingredients: juicy melon and Parma ham. The combination of melon and Parma ham will appeal mainly to those who like combining meat with fruit.

This melon and ham snack can be served either cold or warm, e.g. grilled. Anyway, it’s worth trying, as its preparation takes literally 5 minutes.

How to make melon in Parma ham.

Cut the ripe, juicy melon in half then divide it into 8 equal parts. Wrap a slice of Parma ham carefully around each slice of melon. Serve it by itself or with a balsamic dressing.

Good to know when making melon in Parma ham.

I used Galia melon. It has a yellow skin and its flesh has a slightly greenish colour and a nice, sweet flavour. You can replace it with any other sweet type of melon like Amarillo or Western Shipper.

I used one package of Parma ham which had a total of 8 slices. If you want to wrap more pieces of melon, use two or three packages of ham.
