You can serve it as an appetizer, as a snack or as an addition to other dishes. The basis of this delicious roll is a simple yeast dough prepared from flour, water, milk, egg, yeast and oil. After kneading and rising, the dough is filled with a filling of boiled eggs, grated cheese and green chives. Ingredients for eggs, cheese and sausage roll.

Dough:

  • 400 g bread flour
  • 20 g fresh yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 100 ml sunflower oil
  • 100 ml lukewarm milk
  • 50 ml lukewarm water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar

Filling:

  • 4 hard-boiled eggs
  • 150 g hard cheese
  • 4 Frankfurter sausages
  • 2 tablespoons of chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Additionally:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds

How to make eggs, cheese and sausage roll.

Cut the hard-boiled eggs into small cubes, put them in a bowl and add grated cheese, finely chopped chives, salt and pepper. Mix.

Pour lukewarm water and milk into a bowl, add yeast and 3 tablespoons of flour reserved from the whole amount. Mix and set it aside for 15 minutes to rise. Sift the remaining flour into the bowl of a food processor, add the risen yeast, oil, salt, powdered sugar and egg. Using the hook attachment, knead all ingredients for 10 minutes. Afterwards, cover the bowl with the dough with a cloth and set it aside at room temperature for about an hour for the dough to rise.

Place the risen dough on the kitchen counter and roll it out into a square of 35 by 35 centimetres. Spread the filling on the rolled out dough, leaving about 3 centimetres empty on the lower edge. Place the sausages on the upper edge, two side by side, fold the sides of the dough slightly towards the center and roll the dough into a roulade. Place the yeast roll on a baking tray lined with baking paper, cover with a cloth and leave it to rise for 25 minutes. Brush the risen roll with an egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds and pierce it in several places with a toothpick. Place the prepared roll in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes. Let the roll cool before slicing.
